Even from the other side of the planet, it's clear that if you have a chronic disease and have to wait weeks or months for treatment, that disease is only likely to get worse and therefore far more expensive to treat.
Support people with things like diabetes and heart conditions, and they are likely to continue to be productive members of society. Ignore their health in the early stages of their disease, and they may end up unemployed and requiring very expensive support, as well as having much reduced lives.
But that won't benefit shareholders of venal US so-called healthcare companies.
The Right is just airing its tired old moan with the predictable message: It’s All Too Expensive to Fix.
And isn’t Sajid Javid the spiv who, along with his cronies, almost wrecked the banking system by peddling dodgy derivatives (CDOs) during his 18 years in The City? Who made his noble contribution to the betterment of our society by grabbing six years of tax-free Non-Dom status?
Yeah, thought so.
As for Blair: guess it’s just a diversion (and potentially lucrative) from that long awaited knock on the door from the War Crimes prosecutors.
When Johnson swept in on a tide of lies and hubris, they thought they’d have a decade to make the case for privatisation - they’re panicking and can’t resist a swing at the old dear on the way out.
The ever greater involvement of private companies is a HUGE part of the reason why the NHS is so "expensive to run" (as talking heads like to say).
Private companies aren't helping the NHS for fun. They're doing it to make a tasty profit. Where's that profit coming from if the patients aren't paying directly? Public NHS funding of course.
It honestly drives me up the wall when people don't link the huge involvement of profit making entities with "NHS being 'costly' to run".
The fucking boomers again. They've had free education and healthcare all their lives and as a parting fuck you to future generations they're taking those away.

Brutally accurate. The same tedious people, with the same tedious arguments to support their private healthcare grift.
And yet it's becoming increasingly difficult for opposing voices to get a word in edgeways
Good piece.

Excellent piece Mic.
