This is a brilliant book-worthy essay Mic. Absolutely takes the fevered tempersture of the nation and finds someone's stuck the thermometer in a kettle. Wholly agree with Alan and I was there by default. It's total bollocks this 'seething crowds' at Green Park. I had to get to Jermyn Street Theatre to review and changed at Green Park (where I normally exit) for Piccadilly as we were told it was impossible. We're talking 5pm rush hour and I was up from Brighton. Both tube stations were quite empty by comparision with normal rush hour. Even tube trains not as full as they might be. And 10.30 was the same. Yes there were some queues but others tonight told me the same story. Ask not for whom the queue doesn't form, media. Its absence shouts at thee.
Keep it up Mic we need something to balance the swamp of mawkishness this country is currently sinking into.
Thanks, Alan. There will be more!

Thank you, Simon. I’ll be in London tomorrow for something but won’t be near the queue or the absence of it.
Superb! One of your best!
Thank you.
I'm surprised the BBC is allowed to call it a live-stream.
👏
Excellent work Mic
Thanks, Kitt!
