One thing horrible, one thing cool.
All the very best, Mic. And fair play to you fighting back. What do they expect you to do?!
I didn't know All My Friends - quite possibly have heard it but it would have breezed by without me realising. Your contextualisation makes it come alive. Thanks. Elements of the idea behind the song, and many of its sentiments, brought this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UiX4dUUjWc - to mind. A very different musical approach, and more focused on family (especially parents) than friends, but sounds like they're both dealing with something similar, and trying to help others do so too.
Very best wishes Mic and I hope you get better soon!
Unfortunately, I’ve had cause to trouble the oncology department of my local hospital during the last 18 months - big shout out to the team at Shooting Stars in Wrexham Maelor 🙌 - but, contrary to the daily media propaganda, I have experienced nothing but professionalism, humanity and, on quite a few occasions, laugh out loud humour.
The staff are the best of us and deserve so much more in terms of resources and reward.
Keep fighting on all fronts!
Song suggestion: ‘Midnite Cruiser’ by Steely Dan. More uplifting than the lyrics suggest 😊
Well "A Song To Change Your World" really works for me Mic. Looking forward to many more. Seems you really have music in your blood, along with too much iron! All the best.
Don’t worry about haemochomotosis. I was diagnosed in my sixties. It’s genetic but entirely manageable by venesection (giving blood every few months.). Go easy on the venison and broccoli.
I really hope you get the diagnosis and the treatment you need asap so you can set the whole thing aside and get on with your life and consistently excellent work.
Thanks so much for this and so sorry to hear you're ill. I'm the same age and so I've also found my relationship with All My Friends has followed the same trajectory. I would also put in a word for Someone Great.
Rules change. The game remains the same. Going to see She Drew The Gun tonight. Hope you’re doing well today mate. Great column today.
(That’s the message. Keep buggering on. . . )
