All this reminds of an interesting and embarrassing moment in my youth. I was working for one of the big strategic consultancies, and I was on a short strategy project for a media company in an EU country. Having looked t the country’s media market I came back within a couple of days to report to the local partner running the project that there was a gap in the market -there were no newspapers similar either to the Daily Mail or The Sun. Launching one would almost certainly be lucrative.

‘Well, we’re not going to recommend that’, he said

‘Why not?’

‘Because it would wrong thing, an immoral thing to do. And if I know that, the client knows it too’.

And that was the end of that.

You don’t have to be a genius to do something bad and lucrative. Just lacking morals is sufficient
