I'd add that although he doesn't own any media here outright, Sky News Australia does broadcast here 24/7, and while our media isn't as extreme as other countries where he's planted his tentacles, our media on the whole is still very corporate and right-wing talking points friendly.
I actually don't know. Was it because he ignored it as too small for his aspirations? Or did the actually reject him and his bile? This may deserve some research.
However, he is losing his grip on Melbourne - the recent state election is proof of that. There's a small group of angry people he manages to stir up, but as the same people turn up at each small protest (they're still protesting lockdowns🙄), safe to say they're loud but insignificant. They'd probably get sectioned in the UK.
How did Sunak/Johnson get Murdoch to run that non-story to distract the public from the withholding of evidence for the Covid Inquiry deadline? That’s what I’d like to know
If this young person was under 18 when he took images of himself which could be considered indecent according to the Protection of Children Act 1978, and if it was his parents and not him that contacted the Sun in the first place, then they (that is, the parents + the paper) have put him at risk of prosecution (and I certainly wouldn't put it past the police to launch such an action - they have form here).
If they're anything like the Murdoch press in Australia, when faced with inconvenient truths, they just shout louder.
Do you know the difference between Australia and New Zealand? Murdoch never got a foothold in NZ...
I never knew that! Why? That grotesque sack of shit has followed me from Melbourne to NYC and my home in U.K. why was NZ spared?
You can read the history of his involvement in NZ media here: https://thespinoff.co.nz/media/17-11-2022/the-rupert-murdoch-protection-bill

10. How much did The Sun pay the mother and step-father of the younger person?

I suspect so.
