Well said Mic.

A splendid analysis of the collective cognitive dissonance that seems to have gripped the nation.

Spending literally tens of millions of pounds of public money to celebrate and maintain inherited wealth and privilege is simply immoral and undemocratic.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, William. I think it has gripped the media rather than the nation, no matter how much they assure us otherwise.

Yes, that’s the crux of the issue I fear. Viewing events via the lens of the current U.K. media distorts reality somewhat.

Critical thinking is a dying art it seems.

As I said, keep up the good work 😊

I hope so, as I can't understand that the nation would be so blindfolded.

Thank you for providing a sane and rational alternative from the mainstream mania.

I don’t have a tv licence so am not subjected to the constant visual coverage.

I will probably however, have to take a day’s unpaid leave (NHS bank staff on a zero hours contract) and rearrange all the patient’s appointments that were booked in for the 19th.

I guess Tories and Royals haven’t heard of ‘waiting lists’.

I have a tv, but I'm ensuring I don't watch the coverage. It's refreshing to do so.

A breath of fresh air, for which much thanks from this corner of the fogbound septic isle.

Thanks Mic, a refreshing dose of sanity, well needed.

Now I hear I'm being forced to take an unpaid day off on the 19th, along with millions of other people in my situation. The joys of living in a backward country!

Hi Jim,

Happy for you to quote a chunk of it but would prefer not to have the whole thing reposted.

Thanks,
