She comes from a privileged Nigerian background. If you know anything about Nigeria, the first word that should come to mind is ‘corrupt.’ Which makes me think that I will enjoy labelling her KemiKaze. Oh wait: she just appointed Clare Coutinho as Net Zero Shadow. The same person funded by Tifton Street stink tanks who fight net zero. Like I said, KemiKaze.
I'm actually interested in how the press response to Badenoch evolves. By all accounts she is often extremely unpleasant to journalists, especially when they have the temerity to write down the crazy things she says in their paper. (not the same as Thatcher who had good relationships with key rightwing journos and editors of her time, and for most of her time had a professional rapport with the big centrists like Frost and Walden).
Stanleyhas apparently got some lively psych issues whioch means he likes Badenoch's rudeness, or says that he likes that. But I'm not sure all the hacks will go along with that, and I do wonder if the centrist Peston-types are going to give less benefit of the doubt than they would to a slightly more courteous figure.
Great read, all them Tory media editors ,saying Badenoch is the new Thatcher, forget that Badenoch is black. doesn't matter to me, but, the 40,00O conservative members who didn't vote, that is a lot of anti immigrant votes against her in the future.
Not to mention the Ukipper Brexshit types the Tories need to win back. I think this is an awful appointment for the party, which is not necessarily bad for the country.
Great to have you back, Mic! Looking forward to the book. Cheers, AB
Thanks, Angus!

I have a feeling that nickname will come in handy.
Feel free to steal long and often!!

I think you’re right. If she’s smart she’ll change her approach but I suspect she won’t/can’t.
Great to see you back writing, Mic.
I am also 42 years old and have lived on the same benighted island as Tim “Bowtied Too Tight” Stanley.
Diversity of opinion and outlook is, in the main, a positive thing for any society, but attempting to fathom what makes Tim tick is migraine-inducing.
Good to see you back, Mic, and on form. My inbox was getting a bit arid. Hope the book launches well.
Not sure we'll get much entertainment value out of KemiKaze (as distinct from KamiKwasi).
But she did work in McDonalds that one time. She has the working class sussed out.
When will the tory SCUM stop living in the past.
