Excellent stuff as always Mic. It's important to realise that one day it could be any of us.
Most don't realise this, as they think that they're not a "lefty-weirdo" (or whatever the latest punchbag is) but that definition of who or what the state doesn't like could easily flip
Excellent, Mic. It happens again and again; Bridgewater, Birmingham Six, Guildford Four, etc. Fomented by populist scribblers who long ago sold their 'journalism' for 30 pieces of silver.
The Met doesn't have to be a haven for uniformed thugs. It could even defy those journos who have never in their lives encountered anything more threatening than a traffic warden and become a true public service. Like the Police Service of Northern Ireland (huge credit to Chris Patton & co, I think) or the Police Service of New Zealand, famous for low levels of corruption.

Yep, the country is sleepwalking towards Fascism:
‘First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me’
