We're seeing police across several countries using arrest as a way to move people on, with the added bonus of removing them from the public eye.

They are then released with a "whoops, sorry! Shouldn't have done that!"; no consequences for the police, no compensation, but there may be a few unexplained bruises...

Unless there are consequences, it will only get worse.

Yes I remember the Met confiscating anti Hu placards during a drive by from the Chinese leader. This was under Blair. Which goes to explain why David Lammy has stated he's happy to keep these repressive laws if they get into power.

For the purpose of accuracy, isn't Lee Anderson the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party rather than the Chairman?

The Tory Party, the Labour Party and the Metropolitan Police. Find the common denominator - he has a name, a senior policing role and a past he'd really rather went unscrutinised. He has literally been described as 'Super'. I am kryptonite.😉
